Painting
Nemesio Antúnez was a Chilean painter and printmaker whose work emerged from postwar abstraction and figuration. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a visual language that oscillated between geometric abstraction and expressive figuration, often incorporating architectural and landscape motifs drawn from his native landscape. His practice was instrumental in establishing modernist approaches within Chilean art during the mid-twentieth century. This profile will be expanded as more verified source material becomes available.
