Nemesio Antúnez was a Chilean painter and printmaker whose practice oscillated between geometric abstraction and expressive figuration, anchored in architectural and landscape motifs from his native terrain. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a visual language that navigated postwar modernism while establishing foundational approaches to abstraction within mid-twentieth-century Chilean art. His work bridges constructivist geometry and organic form, resisting a fixed position between the two.
