Max Jiménez was a Costa Rican painter and sculptor active in the early-to-mid twentieth century. Working primarily in oil and bronze during the interwar and immediate postwar periods, he engaged with modernist formal vocabularies while maintaining a distinctive engagement with Central American landscape and cultural subject matter.
