Denis Brihat was a French photographer whose black-and-white work explored the formal and tactile qualities of natural objects and landscapes. Active from the 1950s onward, he developed a distinctive approach centered on close observation of texture, light, and botanical forms. His practice emerged within the postwar European photography tradition, prioritizing subtle gradations of tone and the materiality of the photographic print itself.
