Ardegno Soffici was an Italian painter, sculptor, and printmaker active in Florence and Paris who moved between Futurism and Cubism in the early twentieth century. His practice encompassed both visual work and critical writing, positioning him as a theorist as well as a maker engaged with modernist aesthetics. A bridge figure between Italian avant-garde movements and European artistic discourse, Soffici contributed substantively to the development of non-representational form in painting and three-dimensional work.
