Henry James, Sr.

Frank Duveneck was an American painter known for his direct, expressive approach to portraiture and figure work executed in loose brushwork and rich tonality. Born in Covington, Ohio, he developed a distinctive style rooted in keen observation of light and form, establishing himself as a significant figure in late 19th-century American painting.
