Photography
Jan Dibbets is a Dutch artist whose practice spans photography, video, and large-scale installations that interrogate perception and the representation of space. Beginning in the 1960s, he developed systematic approaches to landscape and architecture, often employing geometric overlays, perspective distortion, and temporal sequences to expose the gap between optical experience and photographic documentation. His work frequently engages with the Dutch landscape and constructed environments, using photography as both a conceptual tool and a material. He has been influential in the development of conceptual and land-based practices in postwar European art.
