Hans Erni was a Swiss painter, sculptor, and muralist whose work bridged modernism and social realism across seven decades of practice. Active from the 1930s through the early 2000s, he developed a distinctive visual language combining figuration with constructivist compositional strategies, often addressing themes of labor, peace, and human dignity. His large-scale public murals and paintings were exhibited internationally and remain integral to Swiss postwar cultural institutions.
