Triumph of the Wild (Part I + Part II)

Martha Colburn is an American artist working primarily in film, animation, and mixed media collage. Her practice combines hand-drawn and found-footage techniques to construct dense, layered narratives that oscillate between abstraction and figuration. Working across 16mm film, digital video, and sculptural installation, she engages with themes of memory, language, and material transformation. Her films are characterized by rapid montage, bright color, and a visual vocabulary drawn from vernacular sources and personal archives.
