Artist

Zuzana Licko is a Slovak graphic designer and typeface creator who pioneered the use of digital tools in typography during the 1980s. Co-founder of Emigre magazine and Emigre Fonts, she developed distinctive typefaces including Modula and Mrs. Eaves that challenged conventional approaches to letterform design. Her work with low-resolution bitmap fonts established a visual language that embraced the constraints and aesthetic possibilities of early digital technology.
