Norwegian Sight

Helmut Federle is a Swiss painter and sculptor born in 1944 whose work engages with color field painting and geometric abstraction. Working primarily in acrylic and oil on canvas, alongside sculptural interventions, he investigates the phenomenological properties of color and spatial relationships. His practice emerged within postwar European modernism, where systematic exploration of hue, saturation, and compositional structure became a means of rigorous formal investigation.
