Badge of Honor

Pepón Osorio is a Puerto Rican artist working across installation, sculpture, and mixed media who addresses themes of family, identity, and social displacement within Latino communities. His practice often incorporates domestic objects, textiles, and found materials assembled into immersive environments that foreground personal and collective memory. Working since the late 1980s, Osorio's installations combine ornamental excess with social critique, examining how material culture and domestic space reflect lived experience and cultural resilience. His work engages postwar American urban contexts and the legacies of migration and assimilation.
