Luis Frangella was an Argentine painter whose gestural abstractions combined expressive brushwork with architectural forms and spatial illusion. Working across the 1970s and 1980s, he developed a distinctive vocabulary of layered marks, structural lines, and color fields that resisted pure abstraction while remaining fundamentally non-representational. His practice engaged with the formal concerns of postwar painting while maintaining a distinctly Argentine sensibility.
