Dan Christensen was an American abstract painter known for large-scale canvases executed in acrylic and oil, characterized by flowing, gestural marks and saturated color fields. Working primarily from the 1960s onward, his practice engaged with postwar abstraction through a lyrical, improvisational approach that emphasized process and spontaneity.
