Timo Sarpaneva was a Finnish designer and artist working across glass, ceramics, and sculpture from the 1950s onward. His cast glass forms, often monumental and organic, became emblematic of Finnish modernism in the postwar period. Sarpaneva's approach synthesized industrial production with sculptural ambition, creating vessels and abstract works that balanced geometric precision with flowing, elemental shapes. His practice extended to industrial design and textile work, establishing him as a central figure in twentieth-century Nordic design.
