Martha Wilson
Photography
Martha Wilson is an American artist and founder of Franklin Furnace, a nonprofit archive and exhibition space dedicated to performance art and experimental work. Working across performance, video, and installation since the 1970s, Wilson has engaged with identity, autobiography, and institutional critique through deliberately provocative modes. Her practice interrogates the boundaries between documentation and performance, often collapsing the distinction between artist and artwork.
