Panamarenko was a Belgian artist and inventor who created kinetic sculptures and fantastical flying machines that merged art with experimental engineering. His meticulous technical drawings and full-scale prototypes explored the boundary between artwork and functioning contraption, often incorporating bicycle parts, wood, and metal into elaborate aerial systems.
