1965·Lithograph from one stone on white wove paper·Image: 42.5 × 35.4 cm (16 3/4 × 13 15/16 in.); Sheet: 76.3 × 56.1 cm (30 1/16 × 22 1/8 in.)

The principal compositional element in Persian Garden was drawn by simply puddling the liquid tusche and letting it flow naturally over the stone’s porous surface. The effect mimics the “soak-stain” technique Frankenthaler had developed in her paintings.
