Georges Hugnet was a French artist, poet, and collagist active in the Surrealist movement from the 1930s onward. He worked primarily in collage, assemblage, and mixed media, combining found materials with painterly gestures to create layered, textural compositions that challenged conventional notions of fine art. Hugnet's practice extended across poetry, photography, and object-making, positioning him at the intersection of Dada and Surrealism in postwar Paris.
