Alfonso A. Ossorio was a Filipino-American painter and sculptor whose gestural abstractions emerged from his engagement with both surrealism and action painting in the postwar period. Working primarily in oil, ink, and mixed media, he developed a densely layered visual language that combined organic forms with architectural elements. Ossorio maintained studios in both the Philippines and the United States, positioning his practice at the intersection of Pacific and American modernism.
