Gustave Singier was a Belgian painter whose abstract compositions emerged in the postwar period, developing a lyrical approach to non-representation through gestural mark-making and restrained color fields. Working primarily in oil on canvas, his work bridges geometric abstraction and expressive abstraction, avoiding both rigid systematization and pure gesture.
