Léon Zack
Painting
Léon Zack was a French painter and sculptor whose abstract work emerged from Constructivism and geometric abstraction in the early twentieth century. Active across painting, relief construction, and three-dimensional form, he developed a vocabulary of interlocking planes and restrained color fields that reflected both Russian avant-garde influence and his own investigation of spatial relationships. Working primarily from Paris, Zack sustained a rigorous formal practice across six decades until his death in 1980.
