Les Chimères

Henri Georges Adam was a French sculptor and painter working primarily in abstract and semi-abstract forms during the postwar period. He developed a distinctive approach combining carved stone and bronze with gestural mark-making, creating works that negotiated between geometric abstraction and organic figuration. His practice engaged with the reconstruction and modernization of French cultural identity in the decades following 1945.
