Gerald Summers
Gerald Summers was a British designer and craftsman working primarily in bent plywood furniture during the mid-twentieth century. His approach to laminated wood construction anticipated industrial production methods while maintaining an emphasis on material integrity and sculptural form. Active from the 1930s onward, Summers developed a distinctive vocabulary of curved, organic forms that influenced modernist furniture design in Britain and beyond.
