Kate Steinitz was a German artist, designer, and theorist working across painting, collage, typography, and experimental book arts from the 1920s onward. Active in the Dada and constructivist movements, she developed a distinctive practice merging geometric abstraction with playful material experimentation, particularly in her photomontages and hand-bound artist books. Her work engaged with questions of movement, perception, and the relationship between text and image.
