Jan Tschichold (1902, 1974) was a Swiss typographer and graphic designer whose systematic approach to layout and letterform established principles that shaped postwar graphic design and printing standards across Europe. His influence extended to typeface design, book arts, and the standardization of typographic practice in the mid-twentieth century.
