Felix Klee
Painting
Felix Klee was a German painter and printmaker whose work emerged from the postwar reconstruction of modernist abstraction. Son of artist Paul Klee, he developed an independent practice in geometric abstraction and color theory, moving away from his father's lyrical approach toward more rigorous formal investigation. Working primarily in oil and lithography, Klee created compositions that balanced systematic color relationships with gestural mark-making.
