Ilia Zdanevich

Ilia Zdanevich was a Russian avant-garde artist, poet, and typographer active in the early twentieth century. Working across painting, collage, and experimental literature, he was a central figure in the Russian Futurist and Cubo-Futurist movements, particularly known for his radical book design and zaum (transrational) poetry that prioritized sound and visual form over semantic meaning. His practice spanned multiple media and geographies, extending from Moscow to Paris, where he continued innovating in print culture and visual composition until his death in 1975. This profile will be expanded as more verified source material becomes available.
