Emil Orlik was a German printmaker and painter who worked primarily in lithography and woodcut, techniques he mastered during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Based in Berlin, Orlik became a significant figure in German Modernism, bridging Symbolism and Expressionist approaches through his graphic work. He was also an influential teacher whose methods shaped the next generation of German printmakers.
