Painting
Wilhelm Morgner was a German painter active in the early twentieth century whose work engaged with Expressionist and modernist formal languages. Working primarily in oil and watercolor, he developed a practice centered on landscape and figural subjects rendered with emotional intensity and formal abstraction. His career was cut short by his death in 1917 at age twenty-six.
