Zermatt

Emil Cardinaux was a Swiss poster designer and graphic artist active in the early twentieth century. Working primarily in lithography, he created bold, stylized compositions for tourism and commercial campaigns that exemplified the modernist reduction of form and color characteristic of the period. His work emerged during a formative moment in Swiss graphic design, when the poster began to function as a autonomous artistic medium rather than mere advertisement.
