Joseph Turner Keiley was an American photographer active in the early twentieth century, known for his work in pictorialist photography. Working primarily in platinum and gum bichromate processes, he created softly focused, tonally nuanced prints that emphasized atmospheric effect over documentary clarity. A founding member of the Photo-Secession, Keiley helped establish photography as a fine art medium distinct from commercial practice. His work appeared in Camera Notes and Camera Work, the movement's principal publications.
