E. Dinet
Étienne Dinet was a French painter and sculptor associated with Orientalism whose work centered on North African subjects, particularly Algeria. Active from the late 19th century through the early 20th century, he developed a practice grounded in direct observation and extended residence in the Sahara and North African communities. His paintings and drawings documented daily life, architectural detail, and portraiture with ethnographic attention. Dinet converted to Islam in 1913, adopting the name Nasreddine Dinet, and his later work reflected this spiritual and cultural commitment alongside his artistic practice.
