Eugen Bracht was a Swiss painter known for large-scale landscape compositions, particularly Alpine and Mediterranean scenes rendered with dramatic atmospheric effects. Active from the mid-nineteenth century through the early twentieth century, he worked primarily in oil, developing a romantic sensibility to geological form and light. His work remained popular across European and American collections throughout his lifetime.
