Vase

The principal face of this vase is adorned with two conjoined coats of arms surmounted by a crown. The armorials represent the German families von Er and von Tzöchaw. The molded and applied decoration at the shoulder and lower portion of the vase was probably inspired by relief decoration on contemporary silver. This vase was originally part of a garniture or ensemble of similarly decorated vases meant to be displayed on top of tall cabinets or on mantels.
