Cupid Dancing with Two Allegorical Women

Paulus Moreelse was a Dutch draughtsman and painter active in Utrecht during the early seventeenth century. He worked primarily in drawing and oil, producing portraiture and historical scenes that reflected the tastes of wealthy merchant and patrician patrons in the Dutch Republic. His graphic work demonstrates the refinement of line and spatial construction characteristic of Northern Renaissance training.
