Venus Marina

Girolamo Campagna was a Venetian sculptor active in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, working primarily in bronze and marble. His public commissions for the Basilica di San Marco and other Venetian religious institutions established him as a leading figure in the transition from Mannerism to early Baroque sculptural practice. Campagna's bronzes are characterized by dynamic movement, richly detailed surfaces, and a technical mastery of the casting process.
