Henryk Stażewski was a Polish abstract artist and founding member of the avant-garde group Blok, active from the 1920s onward. Working primarily in geometric abstraction, he developed a rigorous approach to composition using primary colors, grids, and modular forms that aligned with constructivist and suprematist principles. His practice spanned painting, relief, and spatial design, exploring the relationship between color, form, and architectural space. Stażewski remained committed to non-representational art throughout a long career, treating abstraction as a language for investigating visual order and perception.
