Shimon Attie makes site-specific public installations, immersive mixed-media environments, and photographic works built around sustained archival and community research. His projects recover marginalized histories, focusing on trauma, displacement, and collective memory, often by projecting historical imagery onto the physical sites where those histories unfolded. The work operates across video, photography, and new media, with each project shaped by its specific place and the community whose story it carries. Curator Hannah Klemm described his practice as exposing the layers of history that construct our world, illuminating what has been lost, buried, or forgotten.
