Rebecca Warren works primarily in clay and bronze, producing figurative and semi-abstract sculptures with a raw, unfinished quality that resists conventional refinement. Her vitrines, in which objects and forms are arranged within glass cases, extend her interest in presentation as a sculptural act. Based in London, she is among the more distinctive voices in British sculpture to have emerged from the 1990s. Her bronzes carry an improvisational energy unusual for the medium, preserving the irregular surfaces and compressed gesture of the original clay forms.
