Oscar Muñoz is a Colombian artist working primarily in photography, drawing, and installation whose practice investigates the threshold between presence and absence, memory and forgetting. His works often employ unconventional materials and techniques, including dust, water, and photographic emulsion applied to non-traditional surfaces, to render portraits and figures that are materially fragile and subject to erasure. Working since the 1980s, Muñoz engages with Colombian social history and the ephemeral nature of documentation, creating works that resist permanence.
