Frank Hinder was an Australian painter and printmaker whose work bridged abstraction and figuration in the postwar period. Working primarily in oil and etching, he developed a distinctive approach to geometric composition informed by his engagement with European modernism. His paintings combined architectural forms with organic elements, creating a visual language that reflected both constructivist principles and the Australian landscape. Hinder remained a significant figure in Australian modernism throughout his career.
