Astrid Klein merges appropriated text and found imagery in large-scale paintings, neon sculptures, and light installations. Since the early 1970s she has layered literary and philosophical fragments, including excerpts from Arno Schmidt, over sexualized mass-media imagery, producing densely stratified compositions that foreground the tension between legibility and obscurity, memory and erasure.
