Art Chantry is an American graphic designer whose work emerged from punk and underground music cultures of the Pacific Northwest in the 1970s and 1980s. Working in poster design, print, and collage, he combines found imagery, crude letterforms, and aggressive composition to resist commercial design convention. His practice treats graphic design as a form of cultural resistance rather than corporate service, deliberately rejecting refinement and polish in favor of visual immediacy and provocation.
