Arent van Bolten was a Dutch draughtsman and printmaker active in the late 16th and early 17th centuries, known for detailed pen and ink drawings of architectural ornaments, grotesques, and decorative schemes. Working in Amsterdam during a period of rapid commercial expansion, he produced bound volumes of designs intended for use by craftsmen, metalworkers, and builders. His prolific output of finely rendered studies established him as a significant source for Northern European ornamental vocabulary of his era.
