Antonio Caro was a Colombian artist and activist whose practice engaged language, typography, and found materials as tools for political and cultural critique. Working primarily with text-based installations, photography, and object interventions, he interrogated colonial legacies and state power in Latin America through deliberate acts of linguistic disruption and symbolic appropriation. His work frequently repurposed official documents, currency, and nationalist imagery to expose the violence embedded in institutional language and territorial claims.
