Anders Ruhwald makes large-scale clay sculptures that oscillate between functional ceramics and classical figuration, often assembled into immersive installations. Based in Detroit, the Danish-American sculptor draws formal language from utilitarian objects, vessels, and the human form, creating works that resist easy categorization between craft and fine art. Represented by Kasmin, Ruhwald was awarded a Fellowship in Fine Arts from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation in 2024.
