Steve Lucas is a Hopi ceramicist whose work continues the pueblo pottery tradition with contemporary formal innovation. Working primarily in clay, he creates vessels and sculptural forms that engage with historical Hopi firing techniques and decorative vocabularies while developing a distinctly personal visual language. His practice reflects deep knowledge of ancestral ceramic methods alongside a modernist sensibility in form and composition.
