William Verstille was an American portrait painter active in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York during the late 18th century. His works are held in major institutional collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and the Smithsonian. Little remains documented of his artistic practice beyond the portraits themselves, which survive primarily in public collections.
