Robert Frederick Blum was an American painter known for his work in pastel and watercolor during the late 19th century. A prominent figure in the Painters in Pastel movement, he became one of the youngest members admitted to the National Academy of Design and served as president of the Painters in Pastel society. Blum was also active in the Society of American Artists and the American Watercolor Society, institutions that shaped the trajectory of American art practice in his era.
